Non-destructive testing is a method of assessment employed in science and industry in order to determine the quality of different materials, components, and/or systems without causing any damage to them. NDT does not allow the complete transformation of the object that is being tested, which means that it is extremely useful in research, troubleshooting, service assessments, and even time and money saving. Non-destructive testing can be done in a variety of ways and is commonly used in mechanical, electrical, systems, aeronautical engineering, medicine, art, and civil fields.

Requirements for NDT training and certification
All applicants should be at least 18 years of age; those under 18 need written permission from their parent or legal guardian in order to be eligible for training.
All applicants should have proof of secondary education – a high school diploma or equivalent GED certification.
In order to gain your NDT certification, you need to score a minimum of 70% in general theory, specification, and practical examinations, with an average grade of 80% in all three examinations.
